PRESS RELEASE NEW CONSTITUTION BEFORE 2020 TRIPARTITE ELECTIONS A MUST!

As a nation and Zambians, let’s come together for once. Compromise and move forward in putting in place a new constitution. There is no doubt that we all want a new constitution to be in place before the tri-partite elections in 2020 in order to have a level playing field.

It is also a known fact that PF Government has no capacity to enact the new constitution through referendum. As it is required if we use are to touch Part III Bill of Rights. We should therefore not play into the hands of the PF by giving them excuses of not putting a new constitution in place for the coming elections. We therefore urge all to come together and have the changes that can be made through Parliament go ahead, and have the rest of the issues go through referendum as required in 2020.

On funding of political parties, we strongly support this as it will ;

I. Encourage and consolidate democracy

II. Improve relationship between the party in Government and opposition parties by acknowledging that they are all funded by the national cake

III. Help Police understand that opposition parties are official and funded by state just like them.

Therefore have a right to exist.
